Fashion Designer

Former student from L’École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, Sakina first built her technique at Chanel atelier as a seamstress, where she learnt the art of embroidery, the rigour of Haute Couture and the demand of an elite clientè. Afterwards, she entered Givenchy atelier as a pattern-maker for the ready-to-wear collections.

Then, she met fashion designer Alexandre Vauthier in 2013 and started a year of collaboration: she learnt draping and the structure of women garments.

For this second ready-to-wear collection, our young fashion house which is involved in the ethical and social causes of our time, develops a Vegan line whose materials are exclusively non-animal derived. Our motto? No leather, no exotic skins, no fur, no silk, no feathers or any other material involving animal-cruelty.

Our house also practices «Upcycling» by recycling materials such as jeans, that we ennoble, rework and revive through an artistic form made of different crafts. The challenge of this collection is to make fashion both ethical and trendy while preserving the aesthetic dimension so dear to our house.

In this matter, the collection presents a line of clothes and bags made of vegan materials, with a feminine and refined style, keeping a strong attention to detail.

Our house evolves in the face of market trends in terms of social responsibility and is aware of the overwhelming ecological issues, but also the growing importance of the vegan cause involved in the welfare of animals. A true concern regarding the selection of raw materials that has not led to any animal torture is at the heart of our work.

French craftsmanship is another element of our ethical values: by working in our Parisian workshop with local skilled and passionate workers, the house celebrates the notion of hand-made so dear to France, the very country of craftsmanship, and does not involve logistics outside the territory, thus offering a production with low CO2 emissions. The expertise of our couturiers, embroiderers and bag makers remains at the heart of our Made in France local productions.
The collection recalls the French nature: the wheat of Normandy, the lavender of Provence, the sunflower of the South-West, and celebrates the pictorial landscapes of the great French painters such as Monet and Van Gogh whose legacy is part of our common culture. These artistic codes are familiar and recall the summer in the French countryside. In this solar collection, nature inspires joy and harmony.

The feminine spirit is present in every look, through a vivid and floral colour code that is addressed to a high-end clientele concerned with quality and originality. The waist - typically feminine attribute - is marked and the silhouette remains structured by sharp lines. The details of ornamentation (art embroidery, crystal beads, glass buttons, …) as a final touch are the signature of the style, reminiscent of the couture roots of the house. The metallic appearance of the lurex, or the graphic cut of an asymmetrical skirt, bring a contemporary edge to a classic feminity. The commercial focus is on the single product. The variations around the theme of the basic shirt loom large through the collection: a simple blouse is extended as a long dress, pleated over-sleeves add some extra drama to a basic blouse look, and a classic summer dress is adorned with a shirt collar.

In addition, fashion becomes an interesting challenge when it is innovative: the Sakina Paris bag made of vegan leather comes from tree resin, as well as pineapple and coconut fibres. Practical and functional, it is available in medium size, and declined in two symbolic colors inspired by the plant fields. This signature bag comes in a hand-embroidered version (chic and sophisticated) and in a basic version (modern and affordable). The brand logo is engraved on all bag clasps and zipper sliders, just like a signature. The bag becomes a piece of jewellery.
